What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese healing method that works with the universal life force energy that flows through all living beings.
The word Rei means “universal wisdom” and Ki means “life energy.”

Everything in life is energy: your thoughts, emotions, memories, body, and the world around you.
When this energy flows freely, you feel balanced, grounded and at peace.
When the flow is disrupted (stress, trauma, emotional tension), you may feel drained, overwhelmed, anxious or disconnected.

Reiki helps restore this natural flow.

How Reiki Works

Deep relaxation & stress reduction

Reiki activates the parasympathetic nervous system, shifting the body into “rest and digest.”
This lowers heart rate, reduces tension and creates a healing state.

Emotional release & trauma support

Reiki can help regulate the amygdala (the brain’s emotional center), allowing stored emotions and stress patterns to soften and release.

Balancing the energy centers (chakras)

Many clients report feeling lighter, clearer and more grounded after balancing their energy system.

My Personal Journey With Reiki

Reiki came into my life at a moment when I needed grounding, clarity, and space to breathe again. I had spent many years working in the medical field, witnessing the physical side of healing every day but I felt something was missing. I knew that the emotional and energetic layers of our well-being were just as important, yet often overlooked.

When I received my first Reiki session, something shifted.
Not dramatically, not loudly but softly.
I felt a calmness in my body that I had not felt in years. My nervous system softened. My breath deepened. My mind became clearer. And for the first time in a long time, I felt connected to myself again.

That gentle shift changed everything.

As I continued my Reiki training, I began to understand my own energy, my emotional patterns, and the places where I was holding tension or old memories. Reiki helped me release what did not belong to me, and strengthened what did. It became a daily companion a way to return home to myself, even on the busiest or most stressful days.

How I Integrate Reiki Into My Daily Life

Reiki is not something I “do” it has become a way of living. I integrate it into my everyday life in many soft, natural ways:

Morning grounding placing my hands on my heart and belly to set the tone for the day
Balancing my energy when I feel overwhelmed or overstimulated
Supporting my children with gentle Reiki when they feel restless, emotional, or tired
Cleansing my space before and after sessions
Letting intuition guide my choices instead of rushing
